2015 was a weird year for me. I lived in my dream city, had a job many people would kill for, made new friends, kept up with old ones, traveled to my favorite hotel, had a family reunion, learned to cook and, most importantly, adopted Lupin.
However, for the most part, I was unhappy. I did not enjoy my job, felt stuck in the city, was not able to visit my home, felt bored, lonely and unhappy. My life felt unremarkable which is one of the worst feelings a person could have.
When the fall came, I packed my bags, quit my job and moved us home to Michigan. I figured, who wants to live a life you’re not proud of – so I decided to do something about it and try something new and find the pieces of myself I lost.
Despite the ups and downs, I wouldn’t change a single thing about 2015.
While I’m not a big believer in making new year’s resolutions, I think I will this year because I think 2016 will be the best year yet. It will be the year of travel, taking chances, saying yes, being around the best people and not settling. Honestly, I can’t wait.
Happy New Year!
