Saturday morning, I was dealing with my usual morning struggle (bed or coffee), scrolling through Twitter when I noticed a tweet saying there was going to be a winter festival by my house later that day.
The weather was warm, the sun was shining and Lupin was sitting by the door with his leash hanging out of his mouth. How could I pass that up?
Running out the door, I didn’t have a chance to grab my real camera but did take a few iPhone snaps that I just had to share.
The street was full of put-put golf, make your own s’more stations, face painting and hockey and the sidewalks were lined with freshly carven ice sculptures.
Oh. There was also a petting zoo.
I’m pretty sure I’ve almost never had a shock like I did when as I’m oohing and aahing over ice statues, turn my head and see a camel. In the middle of our street.
The DIA was also there to give you a little culture . . . and a place to warm up.
After strolling around, we ducked inside for a cup of coffee (see, I’m not kidding when I tell you I’m perilously close to crossing over to a Lorelai Gilmore level of obsession here).
Morning Glory is my favorite local coffee shop and completely deserves it’s own post so, for now, I’ll just leave you with a little tease.
After one more quick stroll, we hopped back in the car and slept the whole way home.
