Galentines Day

I love Galentines Day. A holiday that revolves around grabbing your favorite ladies to eat breakfast food is by far the best day of the year in my opinion. Especially since I love breakfast food more than anything . . . and I have some pretty great ladies in my life.

This year, in an attempt to pass the Galentines Day tradition along, I grabbed one of my favorite gals who had never heard of GD before.

My cousin Madison is the closest I’ve ever had to a sister. She’s by far one of the funniest people I know and is the only person I’ve ever met who is always as hungry as I am. Clearly a solid choice candidate for passing on this tradition.

We started our girls day at Justamere Equestrian Riding Center – Madison’s home-away-from-home.

I always love to see people doing what they’re passionate about and, for Madison, that’s horses. She was so in her element and despite the freezing cold, every time she ran by my window, she gave me a big red-cheeked smile.

Eventually, she came in shivering and starving so I whisked her off to do what us ladies do best on Galentines Day – brunch!

Pecan pancakes for her.

Le Andos Cafe

Strawberry belgian waffles for me.

Le Andos Cafe

Truly a Galentines Day fit for Leslie Knope. It was like “Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”

Did anyone else celebrate Galentines Day? More importantly, what kind of waffles did you have?

My friends and I were just saying how we need to celebrate galentines day next year – brunch sounds like the perfect way to do that!
