I’m pretty sure you’ve all learned by now my slight love of coffee.
By slight, I mean addiction.
You know how in Harry Potter, Lupin has to drink the Wolfsbane potion every full moon to become a tame wolf? If he doesn’t, he becomes a wild, nasty werewolf?
Basically, come the morning, I’m Professor Lupin and coffee is my wolfsbane.
Always on the lookout for new coffee spots, Rowland Cafe came across my radar.
Located in one of my favorite and one of the most well-known and historic building in Detroit – the Guardian Building.
While the building is full of offices, the downstairs is open to the public looking to sightsee, grab a cup of coffee, or add some color to a dull day.
You’ll find the Roland Cafe through the main lobby and up a short set of stairs. If you hit a huge mural of the mitten, you’ve gone so far.
Because all good cups of coffee should be accompanied with a scone.
My choice – lemon raisin. Perfectly flaky and mildly sweet, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a pastry that went so good with coffee.
Did I mention everything about the building is an Instagrammers dream?
Next time you’re downtown, stop by the Guardian (on the corner of Congress and Griswold) pop on in for a cup of coffee and an Instagram pic.
