On my quest to find ethical, affordable brands, I stumbled across what is now one of my favorite companies: Pact Apparel.
Did you know that about 16% of insecticides and 7% of pesticides used in the world are for conventional cotton? How about, according to the Wold Bank, about 20% of industrial water pollution is a result of treating and dyeing textiles?
Here is why organic cotton is better. No toxic chemicals are used, meaning the soil isn’t damaged and there’s less of a negative impact on the air. Growing organic cotton uses 71% less water and 62% less energy than regular cotton. Not only is this better for the environment, it’s better for farmers as they aren’t exposed to the toxic chemicals that seep into fields, damaging their food and water supplies.
The cotton Pact uses is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard where one of the key features it he protection of workers’ rights. The working conditions are safe and clean, no child or forced labor and living wages are paid.

I’m not much of a fashion blogger, so I thought I’d share a few pictures of some of my favorite pieces from when I wear them in my day-to-day life.
I’m traveling a lot this summer and my wrap dress is a piece I always take with me. Throw it on with sandals or sneakers to wander during the day and a pair of wedges at night. The perfect transition dress!
There’s nothing I love more than a soft T-shirt. I had a professor in college who only wore crisp cotton shirts with pencil skirts or trousers and always looked fabulous. It’s the perfect way to be comfortable throughout the day but also look polished and put together.
Tank tops are all-year staples in my wardrobe. I wear them under sweaters in the winter and alone in the summer.
What I like about Pact tanks is they’re fitting but not super tight. They’re also not see-through, so they’re work appropriate – I throw mine on with a blazer, jeans, fun shoes and am ready to go!
I wasn’t kidding when I said I love the wrap dress. I bought it in two colors, I honestly like it that much. I wear it to work, traveling or just relaxing around the house.
For me style is classic pieces that can be worn a million different ways and that’s what I think Pact clothing accomplishes. It’s ethical, environmentally friendly, good quality and reasonable prices. I can’t recommend them enough!
Plus, if you hurry, they’re having their annual dress event right now! I highly recommend the wrap dress (I have my eye on a cute mint color one).
Have you bought anything from Pact? What did you think?
